Meet prep

&#thirteen;

Good day Jordan.

First, thanks for the free discussion board and articles. I’ve misplaced ~19 lbs when you consider that January the usage of your tools.

Sadly, my training has been a little rocky along the way. I switched to intermediate programming (TM) due to the slower progress, but I’ve seemed to regressed a bit and my weight loss seems to have stalled.

I’m 5′ 7″, 190 (lowest was 188 on Friday), 31 years old and my recent lifts are:

Squat: 365 x 5 x 4

Bench: 280 x 5 x 4

Deadlift: 505 x 1, 485 x 1 x 4

(Reps x sets)

I’m supposed to compete on the 18th in the 181 class and I’m planning a water cut for 24 hr weigh-in. I was planning on hitting 1215 to qualify for nationals but the past few training sessions things have seemed to come undone.

My problem is that my work sets have not been translating well to intensity. For instance, even though I got 365 x 5 x 4 last week, 405 just buried me for a single. And just two weeks ago I benched 315 for 5 paused singles, and last week I got 280 x 5 x 4, but yesterday I couldn’t even do a triple with 295.

I’m eating ~11 cal/lbs and 240-250 g protein. Do you think there’s anything worth changing, or should I just take it easy except the competitors and spot if I am beneath-recovered? I do know that you would be able to’t operate miracles however I am getting anxious about bombing out.&#thirteen;
