Tariq Aziz, the debonair foreign minister during Saddam Husseins rule who became a familiar figure to western television audiences during two Gulf wars, has died in an Iraqi prison.
Aziz, an elegant figure in dark-rimmed glasses who spoke fluent English and was the smooth public face of the regime, was reported to have died of a heart attack. He was 79.
