Insomnia

Hi,

I suffer from acute insomnia & have for several years; prior to that, it was less severe, but still a problem.

After my first back surgery, in 1985, I was put on Halcion, but I got hooked on it & it was very difficult to escape from , but I did.

As far as supplements, OTC & scripted medicines, I have tried many

Melatonin never worked, then it began to have an adverse effect. As antihistamines give me a sense of being wired, so did Melatonin. I've tried Lunestga with no luck, & the only thing that works for me, in a limited role, is either 2 mg. of Lorazepam or a 10 Mg. Zolpidem tab. With either, I average maybe 4 hours a night, but without, I average 1-3. I am afraid to again get addicted to either, so I do not take every night.

Lunesta was about the same. My insurance only covers Zolpidem & Lorazepam, & the costs OTC for the others, is far too cost prohibitive.

If I may, what, or does not, work for you ?

Thanks for your time.

I recently tried a combination of the below, in 1 gel cap as well, as

well as a separate 250 mg Valerian Root cap. No luck

Calcium (as calcium carbonate) 70 mg 7%

Magnesium (as magnesium oxide) 30 mg 7%

(from Griffonia simplicifolia (seed) extract)

Valerian, extract (root) 150 mg †

standardized to 0.8% valerenic acids

Hops, extract (flower) 50 mg †

Passionflower, extract (flower) 50 mg †
