HI!
I grew up in Southeast Asia, and turmeric is commonly used to cure a variety of illnesses and to increase overall health and wellness. The Malays in Malaysia and Sumatra use turmeric to relieve the symptoms of flu and cough. They use powdered turmeric, which they rub on the bridges of the noses of flu and cough patients. I've used this method before and it worked (at least for me).
In India I learned how to make "haldi wala doodh" , milk with turmeric. It's basically milk heated in a pot or saucepan with turmeric and sugar to taste. You can take it to relieve the symptoms of cough, influenza and sinusitis as well as to induce a good night's sleep.
Do you have your own traditional turmeric remedies to share?
