How to get off coffee FOR GOOD?

I've gone periods on and off caffeine. I can't seem to break the habit though. I started drinking coffee when I was 17 and working in an office. I had a lot of late nights, and never wanted to be rude and be tired/yawning in front of the boss. I would drink ~3 cups a day. Whenever I stop drinking it, I have to sleep all day. I wouldn't mind just doing a detox and quitting for good.



It's really getting in the way of my exercise. My schedule is getting busier and I no longer have time to go to the gym after work. I'd like to start running early in the morning, but I'm dead if I haven't had my coffee.



Is there a healthier way to wean myself off caffeine? How long does it typically take to detox before I can be back to my normal self?
