For years my mother has been on and off of the Atkins Diet. For those of you who don't know what that is, basically it's similar to the 'Caveman Diet'. You totally cut out carbohydrates in the form of noodles, bread, grains, etc, at least at first. You eat a ton of veggies and meat. The further you are through the diet, though, the more you can start introducing fruits and other things.
It has worked for her, she has lost weight. At the point she's at now she can even cheat every once and awhile and gains no weight. But the beginning seems super difficult. And you have to be careful so you get proper nutrients.
What do you think of the Atkins Diet?
Pros Of The Atkins Diet:
+You get to eat hi-fat foods! Such as BACON and butter! (Of course then your cholesterol may skyrocket... be careful)
+You won't feel like you are starving. You get to eat as much as you want of the allowed foods.
+If you stick to the difficult beginning, there is a great possibility of losing weight fast! With that immediate success, it makes it easier to stick with the diet.
+You keep the weight off, as long as you follow the plan.
The Only Cons I Can Think Of:
- High fat diet. Watch your cholesterol. It would be really easy to increase it in this diet plan. Eat a lot of fish and nuts to counteract this.
-It's seems super difficult at first! Do NOT keep sweets around the house. Haha!
