Around 50 million Americans are without any health insurance currently. It is not late though. March 31st is the deadline to enroll under the Affordable Care Act.
People who have not signed it yet and even won’t do it by the deadline will not be uninsured though, but they may need to pay a fine.
Many Americans are still not aware of March 31, but there are exceptions to the deadline as those people who meet the Medicaid program requirements not to worry about deadlines as they may sign up at any time.
There is another exception apart from these poor with Medicaid recipients. The deadline rule is for those people who become eligible for the Medicare after the age of 65. Such people can enroll after achieving the age.
Apart from all these, people who are currently insured but have lost the coverage through an event, they can sign up outside of the open enrollment periods.
Above all these, such situations are there too like having a child or else migrating to another state. These would qualify to sign up at any other times.
