is engineering the perfect occupation?

Don’t be a potato.

There is no such thing as a singularly best career.

A great career depends on 1) what you make of it 2) what makes you happy

Since the above two variables are extremely subjective, the ‘best career’ could be almost anything. It could be a dude who has a coffee shop in Buenos Aires or a dude who teaches origami at a CC.

One lesson you will learn if you make a decent amount of money – money is not the key to happiness. After a certain amount that enables you to do some things you’ve wanted to do, it doesn’t really matter as much. Sure your lifestyle will adapt to the amount of money you make, but just as you got bored and less excited by your Playstation 1, you’ll get bored and less excited of your Playstation 6.

The other lesson you learn is that there is a general correlation between stress and the amount of salary you make (not the rule, but a general principle). So the constant question you will have down the road is how much stress/hours you’re willing to put in to make money vs. how much time you need to actually enjoy your life.

These are the questions you should ponder if you want to think philosophically, not potato head questions like ‘wuts best career’?
