Query: Aching joints, sore muscle tissues and vomiting about month-to-month?

My dad has this unknown sickness that comes and goes on a few month-to-month foundation. When it hits him he will get extraordinarily sore and feels actually drained and the next day is sick to his stomach. When he’s having stomach problems, he usually only vomits once or twice, runs a fever, and then the next day or shortly thereafter, he’s fine again.

He’s 58, but extremely healthy and active. As far as I know, he doesn’t have any existing conditions like arthritis. He’s mentioned other symptoms like a rapid heartbeat in the night and extremely sore joints, mostly ankles and knees. The vomiting is a new addition, but he’s had this for about a year getting farther apart, but also more severe.

He insists it’s fatigue, but the way it comes and go so quickly makes it seem like he’s actually sick. Any ideas of what this mixture of signs will be?
