Question: I'm trying to make myself appear thinner and more toned but it's not working...?

I used to be very chubby, nearly being overweight. My parents discovered they had high blood pressure, so we all changed our lifestyles, going for a long walk every 2 days and eating less sugar and salt and processed foods.

I've also started doing squats and jogging and yoga.

However, it's been a very long time and I've actually gotten fatter rather than thinner. I've gained probably too much muscle, but haven't lost fat, and my stomach is even chubbier than before. I can't fit into any of my old jeans and when my gran came to visit she started getting really happy about me 'fattening up' since a year ago. Which isn't actually good. What's going on??
