I don't want to offend anyone with this thread. A lot of people like to say that homosexuality is wrong and sinful, and often say that just like pedophilia is wrong because they can't control their sexual urges, uncontrollable same sex attraction urges are wrong. I have often hated this comparison, as I am gay myself. It's really offensive, but I can see why the comparison is an option to people who want to condemn homosexuality, although I disagree with the notion.
I've been told that if people should be allowed to live as homosexuals, then pedophiles should also be allowed to be with children and live that lifestyle. I actually got into a fight with someone over this, and ended up breaking his collarbone. I should have just argued my point, but sometimes - despite being a very capable writer - I find it hard to get my point across when emotionally riles.
What would have been your argument as to why homosexuality and pedophilia is not comparable or similar?
