Exercise and the common cold

I wake up this morning and my head feels thick. My sinuses are clogged and I really don't feel motivated to get out on my bike which was my intention today. I don't often get sick so I rarely have days where I would rather just crawl back in bed. Today is one of those days. It is sunny outside and it seems a real shame to waste the day.



How do you maintain the motivation to exercise through a cold? I am not talking about the flu here. I see the sun, I see my bike, but I feel uninteresting in getting the two together. I am reluctant to take something to mask the effects of a cold unless it is seriously interfering with sleep. Do you maintain your routine no matter what, or do you take it easy and rest?
