Question: Does hiking make you lose weight?

The rule is simple:

If you consume more calories than it takes to stay the same weight, you will gain weight. If you consume fewer calories than it takes to stay the same weight, you will lose weight.



Hiking consumes some energy. It also helps to build muscle tissue which is denser and heavier than fat tissue.

Whether you gain or lose weight depends on how much you eat.
