MIAMI (CBSMiami) The Lunch with Jeb contest was launched by the Right to Rise PAC in early April.
Out of 12,331 entrants, Zeus Rodriguez won the weekend trip down to Miami to dine with Bush at the Burger and Beer Joint in South Beach.
Rodriguez is the President of Hispanics for School Choice in Wisconsin. He previously served as President of Milwaukees St. Anthony School, the countrys largest K-12 Catholic school system.
Rodriguez brought along his wife Dana Rodriguez who is a pediatric nurse who runs the medical clinic at St. Anthony School.
I really like his holistic approach to the campaign. I mean hes got a lot of holistic experience in different areas and I really like what hes done, said Rodriguez.
What campaign? joked Bush, to which Rodriguez clarified, Sorry thats if he runs.
Bush, who has not yet announced his candidacy, was careful to use the word if over and over.
If I go forward were going to make every effort to raise thousands and thousands of people and ask them to contribute, he said.
Bush, is expected to meet with top donors in South Florida on Sunday.
If he does jump into the race, as expected, he will face off against candidates including fellow South Floridian Marco Rubio who was just named the Republican front runner by a Quinnipiac University poll.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has been campaigning hard across the country since announcing her candidacy two weeks ago.
When or if Jeb Bushs official announcement comes, his brother says hell stay on the sidelines. Former President George W. Bush has said hes concerned the family name will not help Jeb Bushs campaign.
Jeb Bush addressed that Sunday.
I think my brother overstates this a lot, he said, adding, People respect him enormously, but if I go forward as a candidate, Im going to have to show my heart, my life experience. It cant be about any dynastic consideration.
