I'm a dancer. (jazz, ballet, etc.) And my life long problem: my muscles are too short. I stretch and stretch all the time. But I make almost no improvement. I have an extra bone in both feet. Because of this bone, all the tendons are connected to it and it's not the right bone they're supposed to be connected to. This is why my muscles and tendons are short. My dance teacher is getting increasingly frustrated that my splits are not on the ground and there forth my leaps and jumps are not up to par. I have a daily workout I do 5 days a week. 500 crunches
50 push-ups
50 triceps
and then I stretch my legs and work on my splits.
My question is: Does anyone have any experience with short leg muscles? How did you "lengthen" them? (If at all possible.)
Also, do any dancers have stretches for a better arch??
