By doing the 1 or 2 that you can do, as PERFECTLY as possible. This includes the timing. Try to perform the downward part of the movement as slowly as possible (breathe in, out, in, slowly as you descend) and then 'explode' through the upward movement so that it takes as little time as possible (ideally, you should only have time to SHOUT the rep number as you travel from the floor to fully-extended arms).
