From a spiritual standpoint, some spiritual teachers will tell you to live in positive expectation, and others will tell you to have live in an attitude of gratitude and excitement with no expectations, negative or positive.
A lot of people who do not have spiritual beliefs, although we are all spiritual beings, will say that when they have positive expectations they are disappointed because their expectations were much too high. Like, say you are going to an event in another city, and the event is always hyped up, and you have heard all of these amazing things about it, and then you pay a lot of money to go, because you are expecting a fabulous time, and then you get there and it seems flat, because your expectations of the event were much too high, but you would have otherwise enjoyed it if you hadn't built it up so high.
So, having said that, do you think that having positive expectations is an experience ruiner?
