Is Black Pepper Toxic?
The concern about pepper arises from one of its components, safrol. In the 1960s, the FDA banned the use of safrole in food in the United States after it was found that injecting large amounts caused liver cancer in lab rats.
This doesn't bode well for those of us consume a lot of black pepper. I don't know whether to take that seriously or not so I had to ask you guys. Is what the writer of the article says true?
