worked 3rd shift for the past 8 years is the a safe and effective way to switch working days?

I will start my new schedule next week 2pm to 11pm reason I'm asking 4 months ago I hit a wall was lucky to get 1 to 2 hours a sleep the after reading about sleep restriction therapy I was able to ssleep more as the month's pass by also my bp spike pretty bad now it in normal range with the vitamins I take and my diet change it now stay around 124/75 hart rate 68 vs 180/90 during the first months of little sleep also is it normal for it to spike when your sleep deprived
