I think that holidays like Valentines day, Mother's Day, and all the rest of them are good for reminding people to love one another - even thought the reminder shouldn't really be necessary. But they are still helpful for that, I think.
But what do you think of holidays overall? Do you think they are just scams to get you to spend more of your hard earned money? It is a great plan to tell the world that they must buy someone a gift on such and such a day, and if you refuse to adhere to that, then the person who was supposed to receive the gift, according to what holiday it is, is most likely going to be upset that they got no gift from you. And so people just buy the gifts, even when they can't afford to.
