Is Robotic Surgery Doing Well in Operating Rooms?

The biggest thing used in the United States operating rooms is the advanced medical technology known as the da Vinci surgical robotic system. Da Vinci is equipped with a magnified 3-D high definition camera that enhances visualization and special wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human wrist. With this unique equipments, the surgeon is able to perform the operation effortlessly and efficiently. From zero in 2000 when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the device, it has increased to more than 300,000 surgeries in 2011. Doctors direct the robots, which allow for more precise and less invasive operations.

There are various benefits that can be attained from the robotic mechanism. A robot's motions can be precisely controlled and constrained through its programming. Persistent trajectories, high accuracy with predictable velocities, and acceleration with no overshoot are the result of precised control and inhibition. It is believed that benefits of reliability are fundamental.

An investigation was conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to look in the the increasing problems that has resulted in death and injuries. There is no proof the robot was directly involved. The growing problems of da Vinci just indicates the change in the way that the company reports them, according to Intuitive Surgicals.

Before undergoing a robotic surgery, FDA tells patientsto talk to their respective doctor in order to determine if da Vinci is the best surgical procedure for them. Da Vinci lawsuit center may be helpful to those planning to undergo da Vinci robotic surgery.
