I’ve Non poisonous multi-nodular thyroid goiter. I believe effective. I haven’t any signs and also you can not see any kind of bulge by looking at my neck. My endocrinologist insists that I should have it removed because of its size (he did no tests for thyroid levels). I do not want to unnecessarily be reliant on Thyroid hormone medicine. FNA showed cancer unlikely.
I refused to have it removed without trying something else, since I feel fine and have no symptoms. I like my ugly thyroid, we’ve been together for my entire life. I had tests done and have normal thyroid levels.
Size: Long story short, both lobes have nodules and the isthmus is diffusely enlarged and heterogeneous completely replaced by enlarged heterogeneous nodule. My largest nodule measures 3.4×3.1×3.1 cm.
Why remove the entire thyroid. This would give me a 100% chance of having hypothyroidism. What will I do when the zombie apocalypse happens and I cannot get Thyroid hormones?
Seriously though, how about Radioactive Iodine Therapy to reduce the thyroid and have a good chance of normal thyroid levels without dependence on Thyroid Hormone medicine. This is commonly done in Europe as an alternative to surgery, I did my research. How do I get this finished in america?&#thirteen;
