Question: Has anybody lost weight by walking?

Walking is actually a great way to lose weight. Here's something interesting about running: your body doesn't know better, it's still a cave man body. When you run, your body thinks its because of survival. So either you're being chased or you are running towards food. That causes your body to hold onto weight; it is a survival mechanism.

However, diet is the biggest part. It's huge. It over shadows everything. Two people who eat the same thing and have the same body types, the one who walks may lose weight faster than the one who runs.

You don't exist in a vacuum though, running builds muscle which burns fat, and running improves your cardio health which leads to other benefits.

But to answer your question, yes, many people have lost weight without breaking into a jog. Walking is VERY good for you, but pair it with a good diet.
