Do guys thin out after a growth spurt?

I'm 13 years old, and a little chubby. I've been trying to lose weight, I'm an active kid, I play basketball daily, I'm on my schools team, I try to manage my calories and eat lots of healthy foods, but I just can't lose my chubbiness. My weight is decreasing, but I look the same. Will I thin out as I get taller? I'm 5 foot 2 and 120 pounds, and according to my pediatrician I haven't started puberty. Thanks for any help
