Question: HELP OUT OF SHAPE?

Lack of exercise did not make you gain weight, what you were eating did. You may have been able to get away with your diet before when you were active, but once you become inactive, you have to change your diet as well, meaning much less carbs. Think of it this way, would you fill up your car's tank with gas and then just park it in the garage for months? Obviously not. You didn't burn that excess fuel so it was converted into glucose which then turned into fat. You can easily lose the fat you gained just by cutting out carbs. Exercise helps yes, but it's not the most important part of weight loss, your diet is. I went on Atkins and lost 60 lbs in 12 weeks with no exercise at all. I sat on my butt all day because of a leg injury. The lack of fuel (carbs) caused my body to tap into my stored fat for energy (ketosis) Don't expect to lose belly fat by doing ab exercise, you can't spot target fat loss, you have to change your diet and supplement it with cardio to lose fat from anywhere.
