Flagellation isn't an exercise. It's where you whip or beat yourself. It used to be a religious practice and still is in some places. It has NOTHING to do with abdominals or exercise.
If you want to tone your abdominals, then work your obliques. Pilates is the thing. No ab crunches, etc. That just hurts your back and neck.
