So judged a festivus competitors once more these days.
They’re designed for brand spanking new and intermediate crossfitters to “destroy” into competitions and have enjoyable.
Now over my 7 years of crossfit I’ve considered some superb athletes and even coached with a video games competitor.
That stated these days was once a kind of wonderful days when a specimen of an athlete presentations up.

This guy Matt Morton shows up having been crossfitting 4 months. Is an ex college football player. Totally destroys every wod. I mean the guy has just learned to row and does a 6:39.0 which is 129th in the world on concepts page for this year… I judged him on 2 events and watched him on the DL. Tosses down 485×5 on the DL and does crazy fast on all the amrap.
Has an engine and strength. His coach said he did 225 basically as a power snatch…
Good guy and amazing athlete. I can only imagine what skill work will do for him.
It’s guys like this that always make me enjoy these competitions when you run into those rare athletes who have an amazing engine and strength and just need some good skill work and training to progress to the next degree.
Questioning somebody else’s expertise when a complete “crossfit” beginner rolls in and decimates our “expectation” of how folks can operate.
