Kicking the Mid-Afternoon Slump

I know I'm not the only one who hits 2 o'clock in the afternoon and just wants to find the nearest couch.



While my first suggestion is to actually take that nap if possible (I had a really good napping season going last year when both of my young children were still taking afternoon naps). But this isn't really realistic for most of us. Here are the best things I've found to kick that 2pm slump:

  • Take my Vitamin B Complex just after lunch.

  • Drink a large glass of water or gatorade; sip on ice water throughout the afternoon.

  • Have a handful of almonds (I love the cocoa roasted ones) or cottage cheese as a mid-afternoon snack.

  • Pour that last cup of coffee from the morning pot over ice. (Guilty.)
