Question: I'm trying to lose weight as quickly as possible. Should I focus on cardio and calisthenics, or cardio and progressive strength training?

I have been doing cardio, calisthenics, and progressive weight training for the past couple of months, but I am starting to feel overwhelmed. My *main* focus at this point is to lose half of what I weigh. I have to reach a certain number on the scale, no question about that. I'm thinking of either:

-changing my routine to two hours of cardio and basic calisthenics, five days a week, or

-starting the StrongLifts 5x5 program and doing 2 hours of cardio, the 3 days a week I lift. I have read suggestions of not doing cardio on your rest days.

I have just been overwhelmed by doing a progressive running program and a progressive strength training program, both which recommends rest days between. I like doing cardio daily, though.

Will my weight loss be quicker from doing StrongLifts 5x5 and 2 hours of cardio, three times a week? Or, will it be quicker by doing calisthenics and 2 hours of cardio, 5 days a week?

The calisthenics I'll do will be jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, squats, and lunges.

I'm getting to the point where I don't like the gym, but I still want to work out. I know cardio and calisthenics are things I can do anywhere, but if, at this moment, lifting is the better choice, then I'll stick with the gym.

My starting weight was at least 305 lbs.

My current weight is 260 lbs.

My goal weight is 145 lbs.

Please, help me or refer me to a good reference.
