Should I weight train and do track to get faster?

So im training to make my high school football team next year. I am already very fast and strong but i wanna get faster and even stronger . But im thinking .. should i weight lift 3 times per week and then run track 3 times per week ? will this improve my strength and speed ? if not tell me what will help me to get stronger and faster , thanks!
