Weight Lifting With 20-35lb dumbells?

Im a small guy. I am 17 years old, 5'7, 143 pounds 15% body fat. I have trained in the past (2 years ago), with just 20lbs dumbells and was able to establish a muscular foundation to my body ( I have apparent chest muscles and a layer of fat almost entirely covering my abs). I want to know if i could gain 5lbs of muscle by doing routine variations of dumbell exerices/pushups? I am open to exericise suggestions. And if a 1200 caloric diet consisting of 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fats would work.. I usually eat around 900-1000 calories a day so i believe a 200-300 calorie increase would be acceptable. Thanks.
