Bittergourd to lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels

My uncle started to take Vietnamese bittergourd tea (kugua in Chinese) to fight his diabetes and he was pleasantly surprised that it worked. He took a cup of this very bitter herbal tea once in the morning and once at night after meals and his blood sugar levels just plummeted!



Anyone else tried this? Bittergourd is widely consumed in both Chinese and Indian cuisine and is commonly used as an ingredient in traditional medicine from both countries.
