Leg muscles tightened after set on squat rack.?

So I got to the gym today and started warming up by hitting the treadmill. I warmed up for about 15 minutes and then went ahead and started working on legs. I did some reps on the quad raise machine to kind of warm up and then went ahead to start squatting. After I did my first set with 45s on each side, my legs felt tight and sore. I can normally squat at least 225 with no problem, but my leg muscles just felt really tight and sore for some reason. I tried squatting normally with no weight and it felt as though I had been working my legs out for an hour or so. It has never done this before. I don't know if it's cause I was sitting all day or cause I hadn't worked out legs in a while.
