Question: Will exercise help keep off the extra weight?

Okay, so I'm a caffeine addict and well in the past I used to get my caffeine from sugar free drinks such as Pepsi Max and my weight was steady at 76kg (11.97 stone). Also it is worth noting I am transgender and used to have testosterone coursing through my veins, I'm now on a testosterone blocker and estradiol valerate. However despite the warning over this possibly making me put on more weight it doesn't seem to have effected my weight on its own. It was still steady at 76kg (11.97 stone) along with my habit of drinking 2-4L of Pepsi Max per day.

Anyway, I started university last September and well I kinda got into drinking energy drinks, not really using them to stay awake or anything. I just like caffeine and just have loads in general. But like I've been drinking Monster, about 4 cans of that per day with Pepsi Max, over the Summer I've actually been drinking more than while I was actually at university.

Anyway Monster Ripper has about 235 calories per can and I'm drinking 4 a day and well I've noticed a few weeks back my weight had risen too 81.9kg (13.84 stone). Anyway, since then i have been monitoring it and it has been rising very gradually. Over a week period I have risen 1kg in weight which in stone is minimal but at 81.9kg I am on the low end of overweight now for my particular height and I'd like to keep the weight down.

Evidently with how gradually my weight is rising I'm not going too far over the number of calories I'm using in a day...
