I would suggest that you do not do them on the same day and go for once a week for each. These exercises workout very big muscles and it takes them a longer time to recover.

I do 3 warm up sets with deadlifts of about 2x5, 1x3,1x2 then I do a working set of 1x5 with deadlift. I do that only once a week but I do squats 2x a week with warm up sets and a 3x5 working set. Both are important to incorporate into your workouts but maybe lower the frequency of deadlifts by increasing the frequency of squats to make up for it allowing both exercises.
