As a kid I was not really quiet, but I was very shy in front of a group, and also shy when it came to women, or girls. In hindsight, being a little shy actually kept me from being a follower and kept me out of trouble. I had a couple close friends as a kid but moved across country and back, in the span of one year, and ended up going to three different high schools in 3 years - 2 different states.
I really didn't overcome my shyness until my mid-20's and about a year of Toastmasters - a fantastic organization. If you ever need to conquer shyness or if you're not assertive enough, get involved with Toastmasters, it will change your life!

I was very shy when I was a child. I was a very humorous child and laughing a lot when around those I was comfortable with though. I finally grew out of my shyness but it took quite a few years. I'm 30 now and it isn't as much a problem with me. I do tend to be quiet and reserved around those I don't know though still.

I was quiet and shy unless I was around people I was comfortable with and then I was very talkative. I'm still pretty much the same way, except even less outgoing. I prefer to be home with just my husband and son whereas when I was a youngster I loved going places. Part of that I believe came because of having a son with autism. For the first several years of his life, he hated to go out, so we spent a lot of time at home and I got used to that, I guess.

I was extremely shy and quiet. I was nervous around other people and large crowds. I probably started to talk more when I was around five years of age. I was always well behaved and never gave my mom or dad that much of a hard time. My aunt told me that I was an easy going baby, not much like my younger sister.

As a kid, I used to be a researcher. My mom used to send me to the countryside during school vacation, and I had a very good time there. I loved to go hiking and looking for wild fruits and going to the river with my cousins and friends. I loved breeding aquarium fish like bettas and guppies. I loved nature and I still do. One day my mom found me doing a surgery to a cockroach with some pieces of wood sticks, of course, when I think about it I can't imaging why I was doing such as disgusting thing, but kids are kids, and whatever works works for them.

I was shy, took time to make friends, this was when I was out of the house. At home I was boisterous, competed with my brothers to be as troublesome as possible. I had my parents worried. I grew out to be responsible, friendly - not overly so, loving and artistic.
My mom would called me the transformed child until she passed on a few weeks ago.

A a child I was outgoing and the family entertainer. I was a singer, actress, magician, dancer, track and filed star, and a straight A student. I was the child who caused the least amount of headache for my parents. I was a pretty good kid growing up.

I have always been the sweet and affectionate kid. I love cuddling and embracing people close to me. I am also cheerful. My parents always tell me that I really enjoy smiling at people I pass by or I meet, even if they are strangers. :-)

I too was pretty shy. I only really opened up to immediate family and close friends. I think it's safe to say I was sort of the "mysterious" type. I loved my childhood though.

I am quite similar to myself as a child—criticism maybe haha—and in some ways have even taken the opposite route that you have. I was always quiet, and never really wanted anything from anyone, like gifts of what have you, but I still liked being around other kids and that kind of thing. Today I have grown more introverted, and while I love my select few close friends, I generally avoid big groups and absolutely require, wholly, my alone time so that I feel like I can "breathe."

I remember when my father and I went to a fast food store. He paid for the food and we went to our table. Then, he asked me to go back to the counter and ask for a sachet of ketchup. I froze up and didn't want to go. I was that shy and afraid of just about anything that even that simple task was an impossible thing for me. My father was starting to get annoyed and told me there was nothing to be shy or afraid about. All I needed to do was ask politely. But I just sat there. I chose my father's annoyance over going to the counter. In the end, it was him who asked for the sachet of ketchup.
It's really amazing to look back over our childhood and recall how we were back then. As a parent myself today, I ask if the situation needs it. As long as I can talk, I don't freeze up anymore. My social skills have improved that much : )

I was a naughty kid, naughty in a cheeky way. I was the 'joker' of the group, the one who tried to make people laugh and did daring stunts to make it fun. Sometimes I went too far but it was usually harmless. I was also obsessed with football, I played every day!

According to my mother I was a tomboy as a child who preferred climbing trees with the boys than playing dollies with the girls. I was fairly shy though and really into doing well at school, I had huge plans to go to University and was very hard on myself to do well - something of a perfectionist.
All the best,
