Question: Is my spine/hips that are out of line causing me to not gain any muscle or toning up?

I have been having some back pains for some time now but they use to go away on it's own but now it's always constant now. I'm going to see a chiropractor soon but before I do I've already seen a doctor. He has already told me my spine and hips are way out of line and need some adjustments. I've should of asked him some questions about working out as I am a gym rat but now because of pain I limit myself to a lot of working out (no more squats and deadlifts, running has been difficult and cut down my time). I've been doing balances of cardio and weight training which I gain muscle and toned up quite well but now lost some of it but still workout. I've been told that because my body is out of line that the nutrients doesn't get distributed well throughout my body....is that true?
