Fat Free Food Myths and what's really filling the middle of that cookie....

It's no secret that when we hear the word fat, our sensors all light up. It's a trigger word. Something we are afraid of, don't want to be, and definitely do not want to be adding and consuming to our bodies. That's just the knee jerk reaction for us all, right? Well, here's some food for thought; Fat free foods must have .5, a half gram of fat or less per serving to qualify for the title " Fat Free" But what outweighs that half gram or less is the grossly large amount of chemicals that are not only bad for you but are processed by your body as a foreign substance! The food manufacturers add other chemicals in place of fat like sugar, flour, salt, and even mass produced fillers. They use words like " soybean" to make you think it's healthy when in fact it is by product upon by product. Most of your Fat Free friends will have twice as much sugar, an extra heaping scoop of carbs, and in the end saved you nothing at all. Best advice? Have the real version, just cut back ( 2 oreos instead of 4) For things like Mayo and Sour Cream you are best off adding a little milk ( organic fat free milk is actually a good choice, because sugars and fillers cannot be added to that product) So stop making it complicated, and go back to the basics. Don't get fooled into consuming extra sugar, carbs, and fillers to save a half gram!
