Question: Will running 30-50 mins. a day help me lose weight quickly?

Will running 30-50 mins. a day help me lose weight quickly?

<span class="qna-sprite abDescExpandIcon"/>

I started today. I'm thinking of running every day except Sundays and weight lifting every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I gained a lot of weight really quickly due to lack of motivation to exercise. I've always exercised so it's not like I'm completely unfit but I did gain about 10 lbs. in like 2-3 months by eating lots of cake and sweets during the evening almost everyday. I'm still struggling with my sweet tooth. I'm 5'1" and I weigh around 133-136 lbs. I want to be around 106-112 so help would be much appreciated, especially with meals. I have no idea what to eat and if I can have some of my sweets from time to time or not. I want to change my lifestyle not just go on a diet so don't recommend one. Thanks.

Question: Too much fruit?

Fruit is ALWAYS a better choice than chips or cakes. Fruit is natural sugar and fruit is full of vitamins that your body actually needs. Calorie wise, fruit has no fat compared to chips and cakes which do. Also, in most cases, it takes two pieces of fruits to equal the calories you would get from one serving of chips or a small piece of cake. Unless you are actually diabetic and have to control your sugar intake, it should be safe to eat as much fruit as you want to. Just track your calories for a few days and see how many you are actually eating. You can check the calorie value of fruit by google searching "how many calories in: ".

Question: Do I look like I have too much body fat? how can I lose it?

You look fine to me. Anyways, I would just do some cardio, looks like this would get you down to a decent physique alone. If it doesn't then diet would come into play. You look fatter when you sit down because your abs are relaxed, when you stand your abs are semi-flexed keeping your body in an up right position.

I wanna get more in shape by around April so I wanna loose some body fat on my stomach, legs, and arms. I'm not too active but every once in a while I'll work out a bit in my room, I mainly do squats, sit ups, and planks. also I don't really eat too healthy either, I eat a lot of junk but I'm gonna try to stop. any ideas on food or excersizes? I'm 14, 5'1 and 122 lbs if that helps

Question: Im 14 year old 5 4 girl. I weigh 122 pounds Is it healthy to want to lose 12 pounds at my age?

Weight loss is usually more about lifestyle than anything. Consider that your level of physical activity and what kind of food you've been eating over the last 6 months. As long as you're eating good food and doing a decent amount of physical activity you'll reach a happy weight. If you notice in 3 months you're not where you want to be, just make a slight adjustment. Trade out a certain food for something else, or add on a little more physical activity.

They say everyone should walk or jog for at least 30 minutes a day.I'm not sure what you're daily routine is like, but you can use that as a base. Have a good day :)

After being passed around from er (3rd time) to KNEE dr, because I need knee replacements, ended up with a spinal surgeon out of Toldedo, Oh. I had that done Dec.08,2014 then on Jan 07 2015 had a rt shoulder revision from many things too, torn bicep, rotator cuff arthritis, etc. 4th shoulder surgery 1st back, However have had 9 scopes between both knees, now bone to bone, and I must say it was VERY stupid of knee dr to say do back surgery first before I consider your knees(ya know no bending part. stoop???IMPOSSIBLE with bad knees so I am sure fusion was a waste of time, I have had to bend over from surgery day 1………………. That is a story in it’s self as to why.

In addition, I have broken my back thoracic a few places, and broke C1-C2 twice & C7 they finally fused C1-C2 in 2007, that was all he did said he went in to do 1 thing & that was it would address other problems later………..

Needless to say never did, he was a buttwipe, and I never went back, have a scar from shoulders, and in skull, yet he’d fix nothing else? Neck has been worse ever since….I was told a few mos ago it is trying to now fuse it’s self, and I will probly not be able to move my head at all, by a spinal dr., but he offered no solutions. There is not a bone(almost in my body(or area) that has not been broke at least as soon as. & 5 mind bleeds from accidents. But I’m nonetheless right here, Best drawback is our beautiful Gov of Ohio is making an attempt to shut down all ache clinics, I SO want he’d attempt to stroll a mile in my footwear. Debate Heightens Over Measuring Health-Care Quality - Wall Street Journal

Jan. 30, 2015 6:47 p.m. ET

The Obama administration’s goal of tying more Medicare payments to the quality—not the quantity—of health care by 2018 has intensified the debate over how “quality” is defined and measured.

Many doctors, hospitals, insurers and cost experts want to move away from the myriad quality metrics that largely measure process—from tracking the percentage of patients with chest pain who get an aspirin in the ER, to how hair is removed from ambulatory surgery patients—toward broader measures that assess patient outcomes.

On Friday, the National Quality Forum, a nonprofit advisory group, submitted recommendations on 199 performance measures for Health and Human Services to consider in 20 federal programs. Christine Cassel, the group’s president and chief executive, said many of the proposals seek to better align measures among various programs and replace narrow process-oriented metrics with “measures that matter.” For example, one recommendation would replace individual metrics on the percentage of diabetes patients who get foot exams, eye exams and blood-glucose checks with a composite measure of diabetes control.

But some doctors question whether the measures that exist can adequately measure quality. And there is little agreement on what measures matter most or are more likely to produce good value. “In many areas of patient care, we do not yet have high-quality outcome measures with enough specificity to drive improvement,” American Medical Association Executive Director James L. Madara wrote in a letter to the quality forum earlier this month.

Some doctors complain that whether patients get better is often out of their control; that outcomes measures take more work, not less; and that being held accountable for outcomes could prompt doctors to avoid treating the sickest patients.

“Measurement fatigue is a real problem in hospitals,” said Scott Wallace, a visiting professor at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. “But, to me, the only metric that matters is, did you get better?”

As of last year, 33 federal programs asked providers to submit data on 1,675 quality measures, according to a government count. State, local and private health plans use hundreds more.

This year, many of the federal pay-for-performance programs carry financial penalties. Hospitals and doctors stand to lose millions in Medicare payments for missing filing deadlines or improvement benchmarks in programs that track hospital-acquired infections, readmissions and electronic-record use.

In all, about 80% of traditional Medicare spending is already tied to such pay-for-performance programs. HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell said Monday the agency wants that to increase to 90% by 2018. She also set a goal of having 50% of Medicare spending in alternative payment models, in which providers are accountable for quality and the cost of care for groups of patients.

Patrick Conway, deputy administrator for Innovation and Quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said CMS also wants to move toward more quality measures “that matter most to patients and clinicians,” and that some had already had an impact on outcomes. Central-line bloodstream infections have dropped by 50% since hospitals were required to report them, and 150,000 fewer Medicare beneficiaries were readmitted to hospitals within 30 days of discharge in 2012 and 2013 under a federal program holding them accountable as part of a pilot with the quality forum.

More than 2,600 hospitals will see their Medicare payments cut between 1% and 3% this year—a total of $428 million— for not reducing 30-day readmissions sufficiently, according to a CMS report. Some have complained that safety-net hospitals are being unfairly penalized because low-income patients may be sicker and have less support at home. Dr. Conway said CMS is considering adjusting some measures for socioeconomic status.

Critics contend that some quality metrics are removed from consideration when a high percentage of physicians score well on them. Some 50 measures were “topped out” from the Physician Quality Reporting System—one of several programs that require doctors to submit quality data for 2015—including the percentage of patients with back pain being given a physical exam, assessed for over-the-counter anti-inflammatories and advised against bed rest.

To fulfill PQRS requirements, doctors in large practices must submit data on at least six out of over 200 quality metrics for at least 50% of their Medicare patients in 2015, or see their 2017 Medicare payments cut by 2%. The requirement extends to all doctors treating Medicare patients next year.

Many of the current quality metrics are being made public in tools such as CMS’s Hospital Compare and Physician Compare websites, though metrics that would let patients compare, for example, how often an orthopedic surgeon’s knee or hip replacements encounter complications, are not yet available.

Developing that would require capturing data across multiple hospitals. “When people have surgical complications, they are unlikely to go back to the same hospital where they had the surgery done,” says Nicole Latimer, a senior vice president in the performance technology division of the Advisory Board Co., a consulting firm.

Romney exit resets 2016 field, gives boost to Bush - Fox News

Mitt Romney’s announcement Friday that he will not run for president a third time has reset the budding 2016 field – with political strategists saying his exit could position Jeb Bush as establishment favorite while helping him assemble a campaign team in key early-voting states.

At the same time, the former Florida governor could become an even bigger target for party conservatives who criticize both Bush and Romney as too moderate; now, only Bush remains.

“Unless [New Jersey Gov.] Chris Christie can show he is more viable than he has demonstrated at this point, we are going to have one establishment candidate versus an entire conservative field,” Steve Deace, a syndicated conservative radio talk show host based in Iowa, told FoxNews.com.

Being the “establishment” candidate would have its upsides.

Now, veteran operatives who were torn between Bush and Romney will be free to put their energies into the Bush camp, should he decide to run. Had Romney run, both men would be vying for the same resources, including Wall Street money and institutional party support.

“This frees up any uncertainty for campaign funders who just did not know what to do between Jeb and Mitt – they no longer have that conundrum,” one Republican strategist, who did not want to be named, told FoxNews.com. “Plus there is a whole pool of conservative establishment voters who would have been torn between [them].

“It doesn’t mean that they will automatically shift to Bush, but he will have a greater ability now to pick [those voters] up.”

Even before Romney’s announcement, Bush was starting to pick up members of Romney’s old gang.

On Thursday, Bush’s team confirmed that Romney’s former senior Iowa adviser, David Kochel, had signed on as a senior strategist for Bush’s newly launched Right to Rise PAC.

Reports also emerged that former Romney donors were moving toward Bush, and folks who ran the ground games in key primary states in 2012 were no longer as enthusiastic. Doubts lingered over whether he could manage a third campaign and win.

Bush also flew out to Utah for a private meeting with Romney last week.

“I will give [the establishment] credit,” Deace said. “They were headed for an all-out self-immolation with both Romney and Bush running. So Jeb goes out on a plane and basically knee-caps Romney in public.”

Romney didn’t quite frame it that way on Friday. In a conference call with supporters, only three weeks after he surprised donors by announcing he was weighing a run, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee said he was out.

Romney said he believes that he could win the nomination, and that he would have enough funding and support.

But he said it would have been a "difficult test and a hard fight." He said he did not want to “make it more difficult for someone else to emerge who may have a better chance of” becoming president.

On the heels of the announcement, Romney planned to have dinner with Christie Friday night.

Along with Christie, plenty of other potential GOP candidates could compete with Bush for the big donors and the high-profile strategists, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and others.

But there are signs Bush – after avoiding a big conservative summit in Des Moines last weekend that Christie attended -- is ready to make the foray into the first-in-the-nation caucus state in a big way. Those caucuses are now one year away.

Charlie Szold, communications director of the Iowa Republican Party, told Fox News that Bush has called the chairman of the Iowa GOP, and “indicated he's interested in playing here in Iowa.”

"I would say, clearly, Governor Bush hiring David Kochel is a good indication he's interested in Iowa and wants to participate actively in this process,” Szold said. “Kochel has been a good friend to Iowa for many years and we're excited to have him playing such an important role in a presidential election."

Bill Whalen, political analyst at the Hoover Institution, said Romney’s exit should send a signal to Bush to get his campaign, if that is what he intends, in full gear.

“I think the lesson for Jeb Bush is to get in early and start staking out positions,” he said. “It’s probably time to stop playing footsie. Start collecting money and support and force the rest of the field to react.”

The conservative base is starting to react, too, said Whalen, who noted that “now there is one less person to beat up and now the focus is on Bush.”

Deace said Romney’s decision not to run “clearly puts a bigger bull’s-eye on [Bush’s] back,” but at the same time, he said, conservatives had hoped that Romney and Bush were going to have to fight it out a bit longer. Right now, there is a herd of potential candidates playing to the conservative base -- including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz -- who would have to wrestle each other for the support of the base come primary time.

Whalen said one shouldn’t count out a “mainstream runoff,” either. “There is a large pool of money in Republican circles… they are looking for the candidate who is the most capable of winning 270 electoral votes,” he said, adding: “While Bush would be the front-runner, he would not be the overwhelming front-runner.”

He said Romney’s exit has created an “opening” for Christie, Rubio and even Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

If Romney’s own words Friday are any indication, he is not banking on Bush either:

“I believe that one of our next generation of Republican leaders, one who may not be as well-known as I am today, one who has not yet taken their message across the country, one who is just getting started, may well emerge as being better able to defeat the Democrat nominee.”

Roger Goodell on deflategate investigation, Kraft relationship, NFL integrity - Boston Herald

Roger Goodell conducted a 48-minute news conference this morning, addressed the allegations of deflated footballs in his opening statement and fielded eight questions related to the matter. Here is the transcript of those questions and responses.

Portion of opening statement: "On the issue of footballs used in the AFC Championship Game, Ted Wells and our staff have been hard at work conducting a thorough and objective investigation. As you would expect, we take seriously anything that potentially impacts the integrity of the game. We are focusing principally on two questions: Why were some football used in the game that were not compliant with the rules? And was this the result of deliberate action? I want to emphasize we have made no judgments on these points, and we will not compromise the investigation by engaging in speculation. When Ted Wells has completed his investigation and made his determination based on all relevant evidence, we will share his report publicly.

Robert Kraft said he felt Goodell and the office owes him an apology if the Patriots are cleared of any wrongdoing. What are your thoughts on that?

Goodell: "My thoughts are this is my job. This is my responsibility to protect the integrity of the game. I represent 32 teams. All of us want to make sure the rules are being followed, and if we have any information where the potential is that those rules were violated, I have to pursue that. And I have to pursue that aggressively. This is my job. This is the job of the league office. This is what all 32 clubs expect and I believe our partners, our fans expect. We will do it vigorously. It’s important for it to be thorough and fair."

The NFL pays for its internal investigations. Isn’t this a conflict of interest?

Goodell: "I don’t agree with you in a lot of the assumptions you make in your question. I think we have had people that have uncompromising integrity. Robert Mueller is an example, who I think you asked me the same question last fall about a conflict of interest. Their integrity is impeccable. Ted Wells’ integrity is impeccable. These are professionals. They bring outside expertise and outside perspective. Their conclusions are drawn only by the evidence and only by the attempt to try to identify that truth. I think we have done an excellent job of bringing outside consultants in. Somebody has to pay them, so unless you’re volunteering, which I don’t think you are, we will do that. We have the responsibility to protect the integrity of the league, whether we have an owner that is being investigated or we have a commissioner that’s being investigated, they’re done with the highest level of integrity and quality."

Will Bill Belichick be held to the same standards as Sean Payton for Bountygate in regard to your comments that ignorance is no excuse?

Goodell: "We don’t know enough of this investigation to know who is responsible or whether there was even an infraction. When we get the facts from Ted Wells, we will certainly take all of that into account, and we will make the right decision to protect the integrity of the league."

Has the NFL ever tested the air pressure of footballs in the middle of a game?

Goodell: "I think we were pretty clear we tested them at the AFC Championship at halftime."

Have they ever been tested in other games as a frame of reference to that?

Goodell: "I don’t know the answer to that question. That will something that Ted Wells can look into and will provide that information for."

How do you react to the allegations of giving Robert Kraft preferential treatment, and will you avoid taking pictures at owners’ houses before future conference championship games?

Goodell: "No, I won’t. I was at the Krafts’ residence along with season ticket holders, sponsors, media partners the night before as part of an AFC Championship party. That’s part of what we do. I was there to participate in a program with our partner, CBS, taking questions from an audience. It’s something I do on a regular basis, so that’s not unusual. It’s also not unusual that I work very closely with ownership, particularly with someone like Robert Kraft, who serves on multiple committees, the broadcast committee and spends an awful lot of time on that. He is on the finance committee. He works on several important league issues. Professionally, I have a relationship with him, and I also admire, respect and think very highly of him on a personal level. There is no hiding from that standpoint. Since he knows me so well and he knows me in that I am not going to do anything to compromise the integrity of the league, I think he has no doubt that I’ll do the right thing for the NFL."

How is a deflated football different from a spit ball in baseball?

Goodell: "I can’t really respond to what happens in baseball and other sports. We have rules. We’re a league of rules. The 32 teams, our partners and every fan expects us to follow those rules. If there are rules that dictate the pressure of the football or there are rules about how the game is played between the white lines, we’re going to enforce those rules. They’ll be enforced, whether they’re enforced with penalties, with financial penalties, with suspensions, with draft choices. Any number of things can be used in the context of that if it’s a violation of those rules. Whether a competitive advantage is actually gained or not is secondary in my mind to whether that rule was violated. That’s the integrity of our game. When those rules are violated, we will take that seriously."

You made a series of proposals in 2008 following Spygate of increased penalties and a lower threshold of proof regarding future penalties for a competitive advantage. Have those standards come up in any case since then and are they in effect now?

Goodell: "We want the truth. That’s what I think our fans want. That’s what our clubs want. So what we want to do is make sure when we find that truth, if there are violations of the rules, we take them seriously, particularly when the deal with the integrity of the game and the rules. The standards are always reevaluated. We will make sure that if the penalties that exist in any given circumstances don’t fit those violations, we’ll adjust that. We’ll increase that. That’s important for us to do as we continue to make sure the league is run in an appropriate way and with the right integrity."

Patriots and Seahawks finish full-scale practices - Fox News

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Both the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks concluded their major on-field practice preparations for Super Bowl XLIX on Friday.

The Patriots even canceled their plans to conduct a walk-through session on Saturday while Seattle will host a morning walk-through practice at Arizona State University.

"This is it," Pats coach Bill Belichick said. "Practice-wise, we're done. We're as ready as we're going to be. These guys have worked hard. I think they're ready to go. We're playing a good team, so we're going to have to play well."

Belichick decided to practice outdoors at the Arizona Cardinals practice facility despite persistent rain showers and took a 28-minute "halftime" break instead of moving the session to an indoor bubble.

"I thought about going inside," Belichick said, "but not for long."

Belichick felt the wet weather in normally dry Arizona provided a hurdle that could be beneficial.

"Make it tougher in practice than it will be in the game," Belichick said.

All-pro cornerback Darrelle Revis was a spectator for the majority of team activity but fears of an injury were off base, according to Belichick.

"We backed a lot of guys off," the coach said. "(Revis) took a lot of reps yesterday and Wednesday. We're all good to go."

With most expecting this to be a close game the Patriots devoted a lot of time to the kicking game with half-speed, non-contact reps.

The lull in the middle was also meaningful, mimicking the extended 28-minute halftime ceremony during the Super Bowl which is more than twice as long as the typical 12-minute intermission for NFL games.

"We've done it before," Belichick said of the simulation.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, finished their full-blown practice sessions in front of a interesting crowd, including former owner John Nordstrom, former quarterback Jim Zorn and hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg.

Seattle went 77 minutes and practiced indoors at Arizona State's practice bubble.

"We shut down the tempo today because we've had two great weeks of preparation," said coach Pete Carroll. "We're just trying to ice it up now, get everything just right, and make sure we're set to play our best on Sunday."

For the third straight day, every Seahawks player practiced but Pro Bowl strong safety Kam Chancellor injured his left knee at the end of the session and was seen walking off with the knee wrapped.

Chancellor was listed on Seattle's injury report as probable for Sunday's game but adds to an already banged-up secondary. All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman is dealing with a hyperextended elbow and star free safety Earl Thomas is recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

The U.S. Economy: Growth Slowed at End of 2014 - Inc.com

The U.S. economy slowed in the final three months of 2014 as a big burst in consumer spending was offset by weakness in other areas.

The Commerce Department said Thursday the overall economy grew at a 2.6 percent rate in the October-December period, down from sizzling gains of 4.6 percent in the second quarter and 5 percent in the third quarter.

Consumers did their part in the fourth quarter, pushing up spending by fastest rate in nearly nine years. But businesses investment, trade and government spending weakened.

For the year, the economy grew at a moderate rate of 2.4 percent. But economists believe 2015 could be a breakout year for growth, with consumer spending boosted by strong employment gains and falling gas prices. Many expect growth above 3 percent this year.

Growth at that rate would continue to outpace other big economies around the world.

Last week, the International Monetary Fund cut its outlook for global growth over the next two years, warning that weakness in most major economies will trump lower oil prices. But the IMF increased its outlook for the U.S. economy, pegging growth this year at 3.6 percent. If that forecast comes true, it would mark the fastest annual U.S. growth in over a decade, since the economy expanded 3.8 percent in 2004.

That would mark a sharp acceleration after a string of sub-par years in which the economy grew at just over 2 percent. That weakness reflected the struggle the country faced in pulling out of the 2007-2009 Great Recession, the worst downturn since the 1930s.

Forecasters say the U.S. economy at long last has turned the corner with solid job growth and plunging gasoline prices combining to boost consumer spending, which accounts for two-thirds of economic output.

"It took us awhile to get here, but I think the economy is finally off and running," said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. "We are seeing a number of positive developments. Businesses are hiring aggressively and the big drop in gas prices means that people have more money to spend on other items."

Global oil prices have fallen by nearly 60 percent in just seven months with the nationwide average for gasoline now around $2 per gallon.

That decline translates into a savings for consumers of about $175 billion, Zandi said. "A big part of growth this year will be people spending their gas savings," he said.

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday took note of the better economic conditions while promising to remain "patient" in deciding when it is time to begin raising interest rates. A key Fed rate has been at a record low near zero for six years.

The central bank has leeway to be patient because the weaker global economy has helped push up the value of the dollar against other countries and gasoline prices are plunging. Both developments are helping to hold down inflation, which was already low.

Bomb attack at Sindh imambargah; 56 killed - Daily Times

SHIKARPUR: At least 56 people were killed in a powerful explosion at a crowded Shia mosque here during Friday prayers, the latest sectarian attack to hit the nation.

Police said the blast was caused either by a suicide bomber or an explosive device which went off when the mosque was at its fullest on Friday afternoon in the center of Shikarpur, Sindh. “We are trying to ascertain the nature of the blast,” said Shikarpur police chief Saqib Ismail Memon. “A bomb disposal squad is examining the scene.” Earlier, Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, head of the regional civil administration, told Reuters that the death toll had reached 49.

In chaotic scenes that followed the blast, part of the mosque collapsed after the explosion, burying some of the wounded under rubble. Bystanders pulled people from the debris and piled them into cars for the journey to hospital. Locals said there were not enough ambulances and the army later sent additional vehicles to transport people to hospitals. The atmosphere was tense in Shikarpur after the explosion, with shops boarded up and crowds of emotional residents massing outside hospitals. “The entire city is in lockdown and there is tension in the air. There is a heavy police presence and the Rangers are patrolling the city,” said Pariyal Marri, a local resident.

Jundullah, a splinter group of Pakistan Taliban which last year pledged support for the Islamic State group based in Syria and Iraq, claimed responsibility. “Our target was the Shia mosque ... They are our enemies,” said Fahad Marwat, a Jundullah spokesman. He did not elaborate. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, a Shia organization, has called for a province-wide strike on Saturday in protest. Sain Rakhio Merani, a regional police official, said the blast was probably caused by a bomb, although television quoted some residents as saying they saw a man wearing a suicide vest.

The attack came as Pakistan tries to adopt new measures to tackle extremists following a massacre of 134 children last month at an army-run school in Peshawar. The government has pledged to crack down on all militant groups, reintroduce the death penalty, set up military courts to speed convictions and widen its military campaign in lawless tribal areas. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday strongly condemned the bomb blast. The prime minister in a message extended condolences to the bereaved families and asked the authorities concerned to provide best medical treatment to the injured.

As condemnations poured in over the blast, Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen announced a three-day mourning. MWM’s Allama Nasir Abbas announced the mourning and condemned the blast in a statement. MWM central leader Allama Mohammed Amin Shaheedi termed the incident as a failure of the government. He said that the party’s further course of action would be announced later. Civil Hospital Shikarpur Superintendent Shaukat Memon confirmed that at least 59 bodies and about 90 others injured including several children were shifted to the hospital.

He said that condition of many wounded people was critical and it was feared that death toll could rise further. Sindh Minister for Information Minister, Health and Local Bodies, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that an emergency was imposed at all hospitals in Shikarpur and surrounding talukas and cities. He added that Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar have taken strong notice of the incident. The attack came as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Karachi to discuss the law and order situation in the city.

Will running 30-50 mins. a day help me lose weight quickly?

<span class="qna-sprite abDescExpandIcon"/>

You look fine to me. Anyways, I would just do some cardio, looks like this would get you down to a decent physique alone. If it doesn't then diet would come into play. You look fatter when you sit down because your abs are relaxed, when you stand your abs are semi-flexed keeping your body in an up right position.

Take a look at-deca-hgh.. Does it make experience! Your recommendation preferred.

&#thirteen;

I’m prepared for my cycle. I’m 36, training for over 15 years, with a few breaks inbetween. Previously done 3-4 cycles of 10-12 weeks test e deca. I prefer to keep it simple. Tried winstrol once and lost my hair. Lol

I am thinking hgh(never used before) for approx 6 months, building upto 3iu and cruising at that dose.

wks 1-24 hgh

Wks 1-10 deca 300mg

Wks 1-12 test 5-750mg

Hcg throughout steroid cycle

Arimidex at hand if needed

Pct nolvadex clomid for 5 weeks, 2 weeks after last test jab.

I suffer from osteoarthritis, ankles (15 yrs). Muscle weakness and pain in calves. Deep tissue damage in neck/shoulder to the extent that I haven’t touched bench press for 2 years. Neck would spasm immediately after a light set of 10 reps.

Incorrect form on biceps also triggers neck spasm. I can do flat dumbells press and incline barbell press at a decent heavy weight. But flat bench with a bar is a no go.

Shoulder workouts have been non existent, just very light shoulder press once a week for last few years. The spasms seem to occur once the muscle is pumped so I can’t even do small weight with more reps, once the pump reaches a certain stage my neck/shoulder break down and I’m out the gym for approx 10 days.

The test helps the leg pains, and hugely improved my quality of life compared to off test. When I’m off test the calves ache so bad, keep me up most nights.

Deca seems to help the joints, but really I add it to the cycle because I’ve read it’s a good mix with test.

I’m adding the hgh because I’m hoping to repair the shoulder damage, due to leg problems weight training is all I’ve left. Soccer cricket boxing martial arts and so forth all needed to cease. I’ll are trying anything else to ensure I will be able to nonetheless elevate.

So the query is.. Is it alright to run hgh with take a look at and deca?

&#thirteen;

Must I add the rest with the expansion ie t3/t4 and so forth

&#thirteen;

Will it assist the therapeutic ? (My osteopath has really useful it, for the osteoarthritis and muscle harm)

Some other feedback or let you guys can provide me.

&#thirteen;

Thanks on your persistence.&#thirteen;

Query: Duration is every week early, stopped for a couple of hours then got here again hours later?

So I received my duration at evening the day prior to this, per week early, which I figured used to be simply stress. Awoke nowadays and bought prepared for work, modified my tampon, and left at eleven.

I left work at 7pm and altered my pad at 7:30. I modified my tampon and it was once hardly ever used. Typically I am a actually heavy bleeder so I was once greatly surprised. I checked and it had stopped. No duration in any respect. I freaked out considering it used to be implantation bleeding however made up our minds to attend it out. My duration restarted about half-hour in the past and now I am severely perplexed. I am 19 if that has the rest to do with it. Every other bizarre factor is that it is so much lighter than general.

Scared to head to the physician as a result of it appears like the guts

Whats up! I am slightly new right here so I am hoping I am doing this proper.

I am a 21 y/o feminine and I weigh one hundred ten lbs.

I am excellent at ignoring well being issues as a result of my hate for hospitals and my worry that I would possibly have one thing incurable. I am additionally an ems dispatcher for 911 so I might hate to name when there is nothing flawed. Then again, I believe these signs are somewhat regarding so I may just take into consideration going. I am additionally hoping that posting right here will assist with my anxiousness.

In any case, I’m going to begin with my signs.

Essentially the most outstanding one would should be my abdomen ache which has lead my father to consider I’ve Celiac’s disease. The pain used to mostly occur after I ate but when I thought on it I noticed that I would have stomach pain even when I wasn’t eating.

A more recent one would be neck pain. It feels like mostly the right side towards the bottom swells up and aches randomly and the pain will sometimes travel up the neck and to the bottom left as well. My throat also feels like it closes somewhat and swells, but I have no difficulty breathing because of it.

I’ve always felt heart palpitations without pain. I just chalked it up as being nothing to worry about since there was no pain with it, but I’ve felt it for years along with it randomly beating quickly.

A more recent symptom is chest pain. It doesn’t last long, but its there and it does hurt a lot. I never called 911 because it was always over in minutes. (I’m starting to feel like an idiot for not calling)

Another few symptoms is VERY little energy, appetite, and fatigue, which is daily. I could easily sleep for 24 hours plus and not feel a thing. Extreme jaw pain is a new recent symptom as well and pain in my lower arm. I paid those no mind too because I thought it was nothing..

Lastly my breathing is an issue. I do know I cease respiratory when I’m asleep and on occasion once I’m wide awake. I do not really feel like I breathe sufficient, however when I attempt to take deeper breaths it makes my chest really feel bizarre and I get mild headed.

Will have to I be involved? I do not suppose coronary heart issues are in style in younger individuals so possibly its one thing easy? Any lend a hand could be favored! Thanks&#thirteen;

UPDATE 1-Valeant to buy Dendreon's prostate cancer vaccine Provenge

(Adds details, background)

Jan 29 (Reuters) - Bankrupt drugmaker Dendreon Corp has reached a stalking-horse deal with Canada'sValeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc to sell theworldwide rights to its cancer vaccine, Provenge, and certainassets for $296 million.

The deal is subject to higher and better bids and extendedthe bid deadline to Feb. 10 for interested parties toparticipate in an auction, Dendreon said on Thursday.

A stalking-horse bidder often helps draw others to anauction by setting a floor price, but they also require thebankrupt company to commit to paying break-up and other fees ifthe stalking horse is outbid.

Seattle-based Dendreon filed for bankruptcy protection inNovember, after sales of Provenge fell short of expectations andleft the company deep in debt.

After the drug's approval by U.S. regulators in 2010, hopeswere high that Provenge would become a blockbuster. But adoptionof the drug, an injection to reprogram the immune system toattack advanced prostate cancer cells, was hindered by its heftyprice tag and uncertainty over insurance coverage.

"We are confident that this process will result in a strongnew owner for Provenge, and that patients will continue toreceive treatments with no disruption moving forward," DendreonChief Executive Thomas Amick said in a statement.

Laval, Quebec-based Valeant failed in November to buyAllergan Inc, when the latter accepted a higher offerfrom Actavis Plc.

Valeant said last month that it was targeting acquisitionsin Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. It alsowants to build up its U.S. dental business and its dermatology, surgical and ophthalmology lines.

"We believe that oncology has similar characteristics to ourcurrent therapeutic portfolios ... We have not previously foundan economic way to enter this market," Valeant CEO MichaelPearson said in a statement.

Valeant said Provenge had realized revenue of about $300million in 2014.

Dendreon said in court documents in December that more than40 parties had signed nondisclosure agreements, indicatinginterest in bidding on its assets.

Assuming additional qualified bids are submitted, an auctionwould be held on Feb. 12, Dendreon said.

McCaskill Issues Statement: 'The Keystone Pipeline – A Commonsense Approach' - CBS Local

ST. LOUIS – U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill issued the following statement after voting to approve the Keystone Pipeline:

During my career, I’ve never been afraid to pick a fight—including with the leaders of my own party—because we can’t let politics trump good policy.

And for the last several years, that’s the approach I’ve taken with construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline. While many members of my party have organized in opposition to Keystone’s construction, I fought to speed its approval. Because it was never a choice of whether the pipeline would be built—it was a question of where. We faced a choice of allowing the pipeline to be built in the United States, or of having it built through Canada, and missing out on the jobs and opportunities its construction will create.

I was proud to vote to approve Keystone, which passed the Senate with a bipartisan 62-36 vote.

Over the past two years, I’ve voted repeatedly to speed approval of this project. I told the Secretary of State, as well as President Obama, to expedite its approval. Approval of the southern leg of the pipeline was good news and served as a good opportunity for me to urge the Administration to approve the rest of the construction of this infrastructure project.

I spoke to my colleagues, both Democrats and Republicans, and worked to convince them that this project has broad benefits for both our economy and our energy security. Not all of them were receptive—Democrats especially—but if we’re going to eliminate our reliance on oil from unfriendly regimes like Iran and Venezuela, then Keystone is a helpful step.

Keystone will also provide a safer, more reliable method of transporting oil through the country—safer than transport by rail, truck, or barge. The pipeline can better protect property and minimize environmental impact than moving the same oil by train or truck, where more accidents take place. And increased domestic production combined with importing energy resources from allies like Canada will bolster America’s national security.

My support for Keystone is also a product of my view that, with energy security an issue of paramount importance, we can’t be needlessly taking energy sources off the table. That’s why I’ve also supported the design and production of cheaper, safer nuclear power, a greater role for renewables and energy storage, and increased oil and gas production on federal lands.

When it comes to Keystone, this process has taken far longer than it should have, but I’m glad that Congress has finally approved this project. The Administration’s reluctance to embrace this pipeline frustrates many of us.

Partisanship isn’t a Missouri value—we’re a state that values independent thinking and commonsense solutions. Those are the values I strived to bring to this debate, and they’re the values I’ll never stop fighting for.

Gas Blast Wrecks Mexico Children's Hospital, Killing 3 - New York Times

MEXICO CITY — Injured and bleeding, mothers grasping infants in their arms fled from a maternity hospital shattered by a powerful gas explosion Thursday, and rescuers began smashing sledgehammers through fallen concrete hunting for others who might be trapped.

A nurse and a baby died in the blast and a second infant died Thursday night, Mexico City authorities said. More than 70 people were injured in the blast that collapsed about three-fourths of the hospital, but by late in the day rescuers determined no one was left trapped in the rubble.

Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera said some of the injured were about to be released from area hospitals, including some mothers who suffered injuries while using their bodies to shield their children.

A 25-year-old nurse and a newborn between 2 and 3 weeks old died at the scene and another infant died several hours later at another pediatric hospital, said Armando Ahued, the city's health secretary. He had said earlier that 21 babies in all had been injured, and nine of those and seven adults were in serious condition after being rushed to other hospitals.

Thirty-five-year-old Felicitas Hernandez wept as she frantically questioned people outside the wrecked building, hoping for word of her month-old baby, who had been hospitalized since birth with respiratory problems.

"They wouldn't let me sleep with him," said Hernandez, who had come to the city-run Maternity and Children's Hospital of Cuajimalpa because she had no money. Later, authorities told her to check at another hospital where she reported finding her baby uninjured.

The explosion occurred at 7:05 a.m. when a tanker truck was making a routine delivery of gas to the hospital kitchen and gas started to leak. Witnesses said the tanker workers struggled frantically for 15 or 20 minutes to repair the leak while a large cloud of gas formed.

"The hose broke. The two gas workers tried to stop it, but they were very nervous. They yelled for people to get out," said Laura Diaz Pacheco, a laboratory technician.

"Everyone's initial reaction was to go inside, away from the gas," she added. "Maybe as many as 10 of us were able to get out ... The rest stayed inside."

Workers on the truck yelled: "Call the firefighters, call the firefighters!" said anesthesiologist Agustin Herrera.

People started to evacuate the hospital, and then came a devastating explosion that sent up an enormous fireball and plumes of dust and smoke. Herrera saw injured mothers walking out carrying babies. Officials said 110 people were inside the 35-bed hospital when the truck blew up.

"We avoided a much bigger tragedy because the oxygen tanks right beside (the area) didn't explode," Herrera said.

The worst hit parts of the hospital were the neonatology, reception and emergency reception units, he said.

Margarita Palma of Amexgas, a trade association of Mexico's propane distributors, said 80 percent of Mexicans use propane rather than natural gas delivered by mains. Liquified propane, which is highly explosive, is distributed to homes and businesses either by trucks like the one that exploded or in cylinders, she said.

Homes next to the hospital had broken and cracked windows and fallen shingles from the blast, and many neighbors ran to help evacuate victims from the debris, local resident Carlos Soria Rezendiz said.

Miguel Angel Garcia smoked a cigarette outside Hospital ABC-Santa Fe, trying to calm his nerves while he waited to see his wife and new baby daughter, who had been moved there.

Garcia, 22, had been driving a transit bus when he heard about the explosion at the hospital where his wife had given birth to their second child just the day before. He dropped off his passengers, then his bus and took off for the hospital.

"When I arrived and saw it in pieces, I thought the worst," Garcia said. He waited for an hour before authorities told him his wife and daughter had been taken to the other hospital in the nearby neighborhood of Santa Fe. A nurse there told him both were fine, but he hadn't been allowed to see them yet.

As the day wore on, people arrived at Hospital ABC offering diapers and baby formula. There was an hour-long wait to donate blood.

It was the closest hospital to the explosion and received 31 patients, including 17 children.

There were seven babies with serious injuries in intensive care, said Dr. Moises Zielanowski, the hospital's director of operations, as well as four adults in serious condition. Injuries included burns, fractures and bruises.

He said the hospital was working to identify six of the babies who arrived unaccompanied and without identification.

The gas truck driver and two other employees of the Express Nieto company were hospitalized but were in custody, Mancera said. He said the company has provided gas to all the city's public hospitals since 2007.

The incident prompted tweets from President Enrique Pena Nieto to Pope Francis, who wrote, "We are praying for the victims of the explosion in Cuajimalpa, Mexico."

McCain slams Kissinger protesters: 'Get out of here you low-life scum' - New York Post

<span class="embed-youtube" style="text-align:center; display: block;"/>

The niceties of Washington went out the window Thursday when protesters disrupted a hearing with Henry Kissinger — and Sen. John McCain went ballistic.

“Get out of here you low-life scum,” proclaimed the Arizona Republican.

The demonstrators were at the Senate Armed Services Committee to go after Kissinger.

“Arrest Henry Kissinger for war crimes!” they screamed, some carrying signs spelling out their hatred of the former secretary of state.McCain quickly called over Capitol police officers to “instill order.”

“You’re going to have to shut up or I’m going to have you arrested,” McCain told the demonstrators after they disrupted his press conference.

When McCain uttered the “scum” line, people in the room clapped.

Another man in the audience tried to shoo the group out of the room, saying, “We don’t want to hear from you anymore.”

No American citizen testifying before Congress should be subjected to such @CodePink intimidation, esp not a 91-year-old former Sec of State

Once the protesters were silenced, McCain took a moment to directly apologize to the 91-year-old Kissinger, who was testifying about global challenges to national security.

“From all of my colleagues, I’d like to apologize for allowing such disgraceful behavior towards a man who served his country with the greatest distinction,” McCain said.

CDC Urges Measles Vaccinations Amid Disneyland Outbreak - Voice of America

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urged Americans on Thursday to get vaccinated for measles amid an outbreak that began at Disneyland in December, saying that 2014 saw the highest number of cases in two decades.

So far more than 90 people have been diagnosed with measles in California and elsewhere, most of them linked to an outbreak that public health officials suspect began when an infected person from outside the United States visited Disneyland in Anaheim between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20.

On Wednesday, a high school in Palm Desert, California, barred dozens of non-vaccinated students from school over concerns that a classmate may have contracted the highly contagious disease.

Measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000 but Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said the disease could still easily be brought in by a traveler from abroad.

“This is a wake-up call to make sure we keep measles from getting a foothold in our country,” she said.

The outbreak has renewed debate over the so-called anti-vaccination movement in which fears about potential side effects of vaccines, fueled by now-debunked theories suggesting a link to autism, have led a small minority of parents to refuse to allow their children to be inoculated.

Schuchat called it “frustrating” that some Americans had opted out of the vaccine for non-medical reasons, saying it was crucial that they be given good information about the safety and reliability of inoculations.

Asked by reporters if health officials were worried about the possibility that the outbreak could be further spread at the Super Bowl in Phoenix, Schuchat said only that people everywhere should be on their guard but declined to identify the football game on Sunday as an area of special concern.

“I wouldn't expect the Super Bowl to be a place where many unvaccinated people will be congregating,” she said.

Homegrown measles, whose symptoms include rash and fever, was declared eliminated from the United States in 2000. But health officials say cases imported by travelers from overseas continue to infect unvaccinated U.S. residents.

The sometimes deadly virus, which is airborne, can spread swiftly among unvaccinated children.

There is no specific treatment for measles and most people recover within a few weeks. But in poor and malnourished children and people with reduced immunity, measles can cause serious complications including blindness, encephalitis, severe diarrhea, ear infection and pneumonia.

Question: I'm not sweating when I work out, no matter how hard. is this bad?

I'm not sweating when I work out, no matter how hard. is this bad?

<span class="qna-sprite abDescExpandIcon"/>

I set up a bit of a gym in my basement using my dad's old weightset and a mish-mash of other work out equipment my family's acquired over the years. I just got done and I noticed that yet again, I'm not sweating. I work out hard, to the point of near vomiting (partially due to being out of shape, partially due to the fact that I don't stop for 30-40 mins straight). After that point i normally have trouble even climbing the stairs. Once I'm done, I feel extremely exhausted and I'll be sore for up to three days after, returning to work out again every other day. But i dont seem to sweat, at most my forehead and clothes will be a bit damp. I only seem to sweat in extreme heat, while running, or doing manual labor for extended periods of time. My routine normally consists of boxing, Muy Thai, lifting, using two attachments for the overhead pulldown bar, and one or two other things I can't seem to name. Am I not doing enough cardio? Is my routine not strenuous enough? Or is it possible I just don't sweat?

Question: Exerciseing wile on adderall?

via Smart Health Shop Forum http://ift.tt/1JRPi4u

Question: Could you give me some ideas for losing weight that don't require any equipment?

Substitute that bag of chips for something healthier...like popcorn rice cakes....I know they don't sound yummy but they actually are not bad...find something that you like though.

If you substitute some of the junk food or fatty food it will not be like you are taking away but making a healthier choice...Also consider how many soft drinks you consume...start trading them for water....it might be difficult at first but you don't have to eliminate drinking them all together but if you are used to drinking them throughout the day...start eliminating them and trying a better option...water....Gatorade... Walking, running....doesn't require any equipment other than you and a place to do this.

Park further away from places....the extra steps you take will add up during the week...small step but it helps.

Google the body parts that you are attempting to lose weight from....usually there are creditable sites that offer at home exercises for suggested areas of the body.

Clean the house, clean your room, doesn't matter...just move more....even if it is dancing around the house like a yahoo...it will burn calories.

Be creative....when I was a personal trainer and taking exercise science classes we used water jugs as weights, used canned food to show people how to do curls, etc....or even your own body's resistance in exercises.
