I read somewhere, think it was "Reader's Digest", that when you eat you should sit at the table and put the food on your plate and pay attention only to eating. Chew the food carefully. Savor the taste of the food. Even pay attention to how it feels to swallow the food and make sure the food is eaten and swallowed before putting more food in the mouth. This does a couple of things. First of all, you eat slower so the food has a chance to register with your stomach which means you feel fuller sooner, and then you stop eating. Also, you enjoy your food more since you pay attention to it while you are eating it.
Any thoughts about this process? I do try it but I often find my mind wandering to other things and I look down at the plate and realize the food is gone and I don't remember eating it.
