I have been stuttering for the last seven years now, and I can honestly say that it is one of the most debilitating things that one can go through. There are so many things that it does to your self-esteem, and then you can't be who you really are and express yourself in the way that you want to, because you have to find new ways of phrasing or saying words, because you can feel that you are going to stutter.
One of the things I dislike the most is when people tell me just to slow down. It's very frustrating because speaking slower has nothing to do with my stuttering - although it may help for others. I can be speaking at two miles per hour sometimes, and still the words sometimes just refuse to leave my lips.
Anybody on here have similar experiences? Whats your two cents?
