Intermittent fasting

I'm currently trying to cut down for Summer. So I heard about intermittent fasting. I eat from 4.30pm to 12.30am. I take in about 200 calories under my maintenance amount and the fat around my waist is just melting off me. My only concern is that I won't build any muscle whilst being at a caloric deficit. Is there any point in going to the gym? I would recommend intermittent fasting to anyone as it really does help burn fat.
