What Kind Of Bed Do You Sleep In?

It is said that long ago all beds were made from piles of leaves placed in a pit in the ground, or reeds piled high to provide cushioning. Then as time evolved, people made wooden frames and attached thongs or ropes to elevate beds off the ground.

Egyptians were said to have put mats and linen sheets and woven blankets on their beds.

In royal palaces beds got their own room, except it was generally for the master or king, of the palace, for the wife and children, and servants slept elsewhere.

The Greeks used headboards in order to lay embroidered silk pillows against them.

Then the Roman's invented mattresses in the form of sacks stuffed with straw, or wool, or feathers.

Now we have all kinds of beds that provide a place to rest, some comfortable and some not so comfortable. From foam mattresses and futons, waterbeds and air mattresses, cotton stuffed and feather stuffed, and the list goes on.....

What type of bed do you have and do you like it?

Does it give you restful sleep or is it lumpy and in need of change?

Please share your opinion here about your own bed and how you make it comfortable to get a goodnights sleep.
