In 2004, Dr. Steven Pratt created the word superfood and described them in his book "Superfoods Rx: Fourteen Foods That Will Change Your Life." According to him,
a superfood has three qualifications: It has to be readily available to the public, it has to contain nutrients that are known to enhance longevity, and its health benefits have to be backed by peer-reviewed, scientific studies.
So how many superfoods do you know and how many superfoods do you eat?
I had a quick look at the list and most of the foods listed were known to me. There's one which is new to me, though. It's quinoa. Does anyone know anything about this superfood?
