According to some research, it appears that when a person becomes over-weight for too long, his body becomes conditioned to the over-weight situation. Then even when he goes on a diet to lose weight, his body automatically adjusts to bring him back to his over-weight condition as soon as he goes off the weight-loss diet.

I don't want to sound discouraging to over-weight people but I think it's best to get started on losing all those extra weight before our bodies begin to be conditioned into thinking that being over-weight is normal. Myself, I think my body is still able to feel normal about not being over-weight.
