Question: How much should I eat after working out?

I read that its good to eat a little bit after working out, but how much? I worked out for about 15 minutes (my foot is hurt so I'm sticking to abdominal, back, and arm workouts right now) to do some light military training (as I cant enlist for another year because of high school). I made myself a bowl of broccoli with a little bit of ranch. Is this an appropriate amount of food to take in after a workout? I'm a girl by the way, so I don't eat as many calories a day as guys do.
