Quick update...
I was at a going away party for a friend and I decided to be the entertainment. Hanging from a pole seems easy at first but when you wake up and are sore for the next 2 days it will make you think about it.
A special thank you to all the strippers and women who pretend to be strippers for that 1 hour a week for building that lean muscle that we gentlemen love to gawk at.

LOL that reminded me of that episode of The King Of Queens, when Doug wanted Carrie to learn to Pole Dance for him. She was betond terrible at it, and he had to show her how to do it. One of my favorite episodes lol. BTW I think doing it with Jeans on is an additional talent

That was exactly my first thought when I read this title. :D I loved that episode of Doug trying to teach Carrie how the be sexy on the stripper pole. It was so funny how watching him turned her on, because all I could do was laugh. But for his size, I was shocked to see how well he did and some of the moves he could get into.

The assumptions that come behind pole dancing aside, you have to be pretty flexible and strong to pull yourself up and down a pole. I know that is not something I could ever do... Given, I am fairly overweight. But, even when I am not... I do not think I would have the upper body strength for it. My props go out to anyone who can do it and does it for exercising purposes.

Does it for exercising purposes? You mean there are other reasons for doing pole dancing other than for exercising purposes? That's interesting. I am all ears.

Each to their own, I guess, but pole dancing is not something I would like to do. I think there are better ways of strengthening your muscles and your core. I suppose it could be fun, but I don't see it as 'manly' exercise, haha.

As Derek said, yep, stripping, lol.

And even without stripping being the reason, you will still see dance shows/performances involving the pole. That's why there's such a stigmatism with it, though...it's a sexualized activity usually.

You guys have to admit, that doing this on a pole, male or female, takes an awesome amount of strength and balance. Did anyone see that one male pole dancer on America's Got Talent? He was amazing!

Didn't see it but I will acknowledge that bodyweight resistance at those angles takes incredible core strength and muscle fiber stamina...hence the reasons why gymnastics are so muscular...
I wonder what ever possessed him to pursue this as a hobby or passion...maybe he is a male gymnast?

Male stripping? Don't get too excited? Let me check. No, I don't see any of my body cells getting excited about that. I think the main reason is that all my body cells are male. If male body cells can get excited by other male body cells, then I could very well get excited by just looking at myself.
Seriously speaking, those pictures show that pole dancing can be a really strenous exercise.
All the best,
