Let's say person named Bob have been diagnosed with "K" by a doctor. A symptom of "K" is "x" deficiency. I have read and heard many people say they lack "x". These individuals will take "y" vitamins and/or supplements to make-up for "x" deficiency. Some people take vitamins without notifying a doctor. Some individuals will do research before taking supplements and vitamins. Is it a good/bad idea to self-prescribe vitamins and supplements to one self?
