I would not say it's discriminating as long as it clearly spells out that it is a "Plus Size Gym." However, it seems as if a gym like that would defeat its own purpose. You start out "plus-size" so what happens if/when you lose weight? Are you no longer a member if you get under a certain weight? If that's the case, the health club would lose money. Sounds like the name is more of a gimmick, otherwise you have a situation where the gym would be "biting off its nose to spite its face."

I can see both sides of the argument. I'm a heavy guy working to lose weight, but I don't go to a gym. The reason why is because people seem judge you no matter what. However, skinny people should not be banned, but they should respect everyone's right to work out regardless of weight.

I think that gym should be available for everybody who likes working out. I'm very thin and fortunately this is not a problem at my gym. My friend, slightly overweight, works out there too. Exercises are good for everyone.
