Paleo/ "caveman" diet

My partner & I are about to embark on this diet, and I thought I would share it as I think it's pretty good really.

It's based upon everyday, modern foods that mimic the food groups of our hunter-gatherer ancestors - essentially what humans have evolved to eat & process.

You basically increase your intake of protein, fibre, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats with balanced Omega-3 and Omega-6, whilst lowering your intake of carbohydrates, replacing them with non-starchy vegetables.

You're still able to eat oils provided they're natural - so coconut & olive oil are fine. Fish, meat, poultry are all musts - provided they're fresh, grass-fed and not at all processed! Fruits are also fine, but you have to be aware of the ones which are higher in fructose - you can still have them, just don't gorge yourself. Nuts are also fine, again, in moderation.

This is a really helpful site I've used to make a note on my shopping list of what's allowed:
